The history of Hometown Bank is rich with success. 1898

We open in Kent

We opened in Kent in 1898 as a state-chartered building and loan association called Home Building and Loan Company. Early services were limited to financing area homes.

1953

Home Savings and Loan Association

After many years as a successful building and loan, we changed our name in 1953 to Home Savings and Loan Association, having taken on more in the way of services to savers and borrowers.

1988

Even More Consumer Options

In 1988, we became Home Savings Bank to better reflect the broad range of services offered to our customers, including an emphasis on mortgage lending plus consumer and commercial loans, checking accounts, Certificates of Deposit and Individual Retirement Accounts.

1994

State Chartered Savings Bank

In 1994, we converted to a state chartered savings bank.

2011

Officially Hometown Bank

In 2011 as Home Savings Bank, we officially changed our name to Hometown Bank to better align our name to the type of service we provide.
